The Shop is Open! | From the Founder Vol. 3

We have 3 items for sale - Short Sleeves, Long Sleeves, and Custom Pura Vida Bracelets.

Make sure to check them all out and order yours today.

Even better, know that 100% of sales will go directly to The Collective. The Collective is our umbrella fund that distributes donations across our projects.

Here are the stories from month 4:

The Shop

If you are reading this - it is open! The Shop has been highly requested, and I am excited that we are having our first drop of products. Here's what we've got:

The Basic Short Sleeve

The Basic Long Sleeve

The Hedrick Project x Pura Vida Bracelet

All of these products were ordered in limited quantities. As soon as they sell out, they will be gone.

I am excited that 100% of sales will go directly to The Collective. The Collective is our umbrella fund that distributes donations across our projects. Consider your purchase a direct donation to The Hedrick Project - our operations account covers the costs of production, shipping, labels, and everything.

We worked with a print company based in Charlotte, NC, Ink Floyd, and they did an excellent job advising us on the production process and helping us choose the best shirts for our prints. I wanted something high quality - something I would enjoy wearing, and we have been able to do that.

Volunteers

Our first volunteers have joined us! We are excited to have four different volunteers and a handful more waiting to be onboarded. We have copywriters, software engineers, and graphic designers helping us with various projects.

We are hard at work creating our updated fundraising platform that is easier, quicker, and better looking for our users. This project seems extremely difficult (I don't know how to code), so kudos to our volunteer for helping us lead that project.

We are in the works of a new logo and brand package. This makes our first release at the Shop quite a limited edition because it might become an out-of-date design soon. I've wanted to create a new logo encompassing the wide variety of work we do at THP, and I'm excited to see what they come up with.

And our copywriters - our newest set of volunteers. We have been working as hard as we can to produce as many articles as possible. We want to create high-quality media and tell stories from the field about the work we support and the work we should support. If you aren't following our articles, check out the rest of them here.

If you are reading this and are interested in learning more about volunteering and helping us on our mission, please get in touch with me anytime. I'd love to connect.

Fundraising

It is exciting to see some forward progress in the fundraising side of the nonprofit. This is an integral part of our organization - we want to fundraise for the best nonprofits in the world, but we also need to fundraise to keep our lights on. We have been able to keep a growing balance in both bank accounts. I am proud of that.

We still have lots and lots of work to do. If you or anyone you know is interested in joining The Pack, our community of leaders that fund all operations at The Hedrick Project, please reach out or click here to learn more.

The Board of Directors

I will wait to make announcements, but we have made progress on our board of directors. By the end of the year, we will have an extraordinary group helping us lead the charge at THP.

What's next?

I've been hinting at it for a while, but Project NC will be our focus for the next little bit.

We are bringing our mission home. Project NC will be an all-encompassing project focused on bettering animal, human, and environmental life within our extraordinary state's borders.

Since internal work on The Hedrick Project has been the main focus, recruiting Pack and board members and volunteers and getting together the list of our first hires, I need more time to push the project forward.

However, it is coming. I am excited. The initial conversations that I have had indicate that we will have some extraordinary partners leading our work - that will be my favorite part.

With that being our next project, it allows me to focus on what growth we need as an organization. That being our first hires. We will be looking to expand our team very soon - we have a little more work before we can get there. However, if you are a content creator (copywriter, photographer, videographer, or social media expert), reach out to me here, and I will connect with you when the time comes.
